School and district transformations that increase student learning and achievement are possible when the entire school system supports change and enables continuous improvements. The CEC model for school transformations applies the fundamental principles and practices of its work in system assessment and visioning; standards-based instruction and assessment, and effective professional practices. Three elements of positive change that are essential to the CEC model for school transformation are:
- System alignment
- Shared leadership
- Consistent accountability for meeting clear student learning and professional performance targets
Services
System Alignment
CEC believes that any transformational school or district must be supported by an aligned system, where resources, structures, and processes are district-wide.
Shared Leadership
Collaborative teams of adults at the district, school, and classroom level implement the school transformation and drive instructional improvement.
Consistent Accountability
CEC works with school stakeholders to establish clearly defined performance targets for everyone, including: 1. Grade-level expectations and individual learning targets for students. 2.Teacher practice and student outcomes for educators. 3. Leadership practice, school climate, and student outcomes for administrators.
