Dr. Trover is a Project Consultant for the CEC, working as a facilitator in the Teacher and Principal Effectiveness Core and as a facilitator for the current Growth Through Learning Enhancing Professional Practice Component. She is an Associate Professor for McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois. There, in addition to teaching courses in leadership, law, curriculum and research, she is currently working with a team of McKendree Leaders to develop a new Superintendent Preparation Program. Dr. Trover is also engaged with the IRISE Team (Illinois Rural Innovative School Effort) to bring Early College, Career Readiness, and Powerful Teaching Strategies to 10 Rural Southern Illinois Schools. Marleis also served on the Governor’s Team for Educational Excellence, the Illinois Virtual High School Board, the Illinois Baldrige in Education Board. Dr. Trover actively participated with the Vienna Leadership Team as part of the Illinois Learning Partnership Program. She served two terms on the Illinois (EFAB) Educational Funding Advisory Board.
Dr. Trover served as the 2004-2005 Illinois Association of School Administrators’ President and as a two-term Governing Board Member of the American Association of School Administrators from 2004-2010. She served as a designer/facilitator for the Motorola University/ Illinois Association of School Administrators’ Leadership Partnership from 1990-2005. She continues to design and facilitate Illinois Administrator Academy Courses. She currently serves on the IL Rural Schools Board and is the President of the Johnson County Illinois Retired Educators’ Association. She also co-authored a biography, Pass the Plate: The Life and Legacy of US Congressman, Kenneth J. Gray in 2009. The authors share the book with public libraries and schools. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education in 1982 and was awarded her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Higher Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois in 1989.
