Janet Tate

Janet Tate has recently joined CEC as a Project Consultant. She is currently enrolled in the New Teacher Center Presenter’s Academy. She will be working in the southern region as a mentor trainer. Ms. Tate has completed the New Teacher Center Mentoring Modules. Over the past two years she has been a beginning teacher mentor focusing on the Charlotte Danielson Frameworks for Teaching. She has also served as a member of the writing and facilitating team for mentor forums.
Janet is serving as a member of the Murphysboro CUSD #186 Teacher Evaluation Committee. This committee is focused on developing a new teacher evaluation system based on The Charlotte Danielson Frameworks for Teaching. Janet is also chairperson of her school district’s mentoring committee. The past two years she has worked as a building representative and as a member of the bargaining committee for her local IEA affiliated association
Janet is beginning her 22nd year as an elementary special education teacher in Illinois. During her career she has taught in both elementary and middle schools. Ms. Tate received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SIU. She has completed post-graduate course work in special education. She is currently a member of the Principalship Cohort at SIUC and will complete her master’s degree in Educational Administration in May of 2012.
